Don't think I ever got round to posting this but it's a real gem of a place for both heating and cooling. The job itself is well installed and to a high standard but funnily enough the staff never seem to be happy.

Originally they had cassettes but actually changed to the 4 way underceiling !!

the whole store is like this and they have about 10 systems..

cheers

Or, this location is a research & development laboratory to measure full load testing of equipment.

Wow... Someone sure screwed that job up.

.

I'll get down there and have a look.

I'm always looking for excellent and inovative installation features for some of my training. This sort of thing is a dying art form.

I was on a course last week (warmest temperatures for years) The room we were in learning about Digital photography techniques, was well kitted out with air con. We were still sweating during the lectures.

10 oclock stress break I stood outside for a cool down. Near to where I was standing was an open door with hot air coming out. On looking inside I saw a 4m x 4m room stacked with Daikin Mitsubishi and Hitachi units, mounted on all walls one above another.

Although the roof was open to the atmosphere these units were battling out between themselves for cool air! I think rather than deface the outside of the new building, they had bunged them all in the same little room.

So when they were really needed they were working at their most innefficient.

That sounds like an architect was involved in the project. The absolutely hate to see anything stuck on their pretty buildings.

I've seem cooling towers with solid walls built around them to hide the "unattractive units".

Perhaps you could talk to the owner to fix his problems??

Exactly the same setup I spotted in a Matalan down here in Devon, condensors on the inside, pfft, fools!

Given the size of these sheds and the quality of the building insulation, plus the ingress of fresh air, it probably doesn't matter as they are glorified spot-coolers.

What's more interesting is they had consensate water trays under the outdoor units, so they must of been heatpump models too, fun fun :)

The local Staples in St Georges Park here in Leicester got a huge condensing unit hanging on a wall inside the store!

The indoor unit is in one of the offices......

Moral............Dont matter if the store staff and customers swelter....... manager must stay cool

They could be just moving heat from a hot room (computer room) to a cooler room?

Is this a wind up, surely they are just waiting for a false ceiling with insulation to be installed or some ducting for the (outdoor:D) unit :)
