Would like to know what is the part that is different between a 1 H/P R-22 low temp compressor and a 1 H/P R-22 High Temp compressor.

In general, you can see a difference in the compressor displacement. The high temp compressor may have a lower displacement or swept volume (cubic feet / hour, or cubic meter / hour).

The low temp compressor will need more power per unit volume to compress the gas.

The high temp compressor will need less power per unit volume to compressor the gas.

Both may have a 1 HP motor (nominal), but this doesn't really mean much. For refrigeration you pick the compressor for the required capacity and operating conditions.

This is why you can say an air conditioning compressor will have roughly 1 HP per Ton. At air conditioning temperatures and operating conditions this works at decently well.

For refrigeration, a 1 HP unit may only produce 0.3 Tons (could be more or less depending on operating conditions and refrigerant).
