Hi Iam having trouble with a Daikin inverter indoor model ftkd60jvea Outdoor model rkd60jvea. Indoor seems to run ok. The outdoor starts it runs for about 15 seconds then shuts down for 5 minutes then repeats. There is no fault showing on the remote. I dont have any sevice info on this model. thanks:confused:

in the uk you get the fault code (on IR controllers)
by holding down the timer cancel button, there is a beep and "00" appears on screen. keep pressing cancel button and you'l hear a series of beeps (some single some double) when you hear a long beep that is the fault code.

If the unit does actually start then there probably isn't a fault stopping unit. is the air short cycling?? is the evap frosting (daikin have frost prevention cutoff if coil too low)? is coil sensor (on evap) ok ?

Probably too late for me to reply but...

Take the cover off the outdoor and check the LED's when it is trying to start.

Sounds like the outdoor control board is faulty.

Either that or the compressor is faulty. If that is the case the board will probably be faulty anyway.

Was the fault code L5?

The green flashing LEds on the outside unit will help to find the fault

Green flashing LED's - I thought they were RED

I agree with aeb200. In these similar situations where indoor coil frosts, You would get the error code "C4" on the remote control.

I know that the guy originally posted this in 2006,and has probably fixed it by now, but the last time I had that fault on a daikin, it was the compressor. Something to do with the rotor position sensor - the forth wire on the comp. New compressor sorted it.
