Hello all

I've got a Samsung SR-L628EV which is losing it's cooling capacity - running all the time, freezer section not cold enough, etc. Best guess so far is that it's low on gas. Had a bit of a butchers around the compressor etc at the back and there are no test/fill points. All the pipe ends are crimped and soldered closed. I am familiar with large industrial coolers but this looks very mickey mouse. So, a number of questions -

Is it a serviceable unit?
What type of gas is in it?
How do I find out info on gas capacity?
Anyone want a ****ged Samsung?

Cheers

My guess is that it is on R134a and the capillary is showing signs of blockage. Hermetic units like this rarely lose gas.

next step is total blockage and a new machine :(

chalie have you tried turning in off over night the condensor could be chocked up with ice restricting air flow, most newer samsungs use r600a refrigerant, due to the warmer than usual weather the defrost period might be not long enough to clears the extra ice made on the evaporator due to the increased running time.
