how do i test defrost heaters on domestic fridge with pc board

a customers fridge is an LG multi air flow model number gn-515 gw.
it keeps freezing up and i can find a defrost timer, it has a large PC board on top of it.
how can i manually test the heaters? with out a data logger.
i mega tested the heater them selves they are ok.
its summer here in australia

You disconnect them from the board and check continuity.

Put it on defrost and see if they draw any amps.
