Hi, we are from Russia, and I buy R-410a - 11.3 kg for 87 USD. Made in China.
We don't understand why your price is so expensive??!!

I remember a story a few years ago regarding explosions happening in refrigeration units fitted to sea containers and it was traced to unsafe refrigerant made in Vietnam if memory serves me correct,I would be very suspicious of refrigerants that are being sold cheaply.

Hi cadwaladr,

I remember that story too - I believe they were passing off methyl chloride as R134a

And nobody in the United States will touch a refrigerated container that has been repaired in Vietnam, some people were killed in Brazil I cannot remember what the chemicals they found but it should have been r134a but it was not and the compressors exploded.

The low price of the Chinese refrigerant does not mean a bad quality. All refrigerants have certificates. For example, SANMEI TM. ZHEJIANG SANMEI CHEMICAL IND.CO.LTD. 15083

How would you know if it's been repaired in Vietnam?

Repair records are kept by the container operators, plus documents are in paper files with the unit.

you can also use a refrigerant analyser to detect any issues.

We all use asian refrigerant -- it's already in the kit when it arrives in Eu/UK.

But if buying otherwise you would best check that the company is reputable, like buying anything else on the net. (Sounds like Vietnam is a no-no)

Because market is regulated. It is not allowed for everybody to import and sell refrigerants, and whenever you have regulated market, you also have regulated prices. And, therefore, people should pay more for same s..t, becaose, you know old adage, "narod će sve to pozlatiti" (люди будут собирать все это)!!
