Dear friends:

I am a new guy in this forum, but I think it is really a good place, now, I have a question, for the attached coil, which is the right size I should use to calculate?
the air flow direction is not perpendicular to the coil, what's the result then?

Regards!

Right size for what?

Right size for what?

as in the picture, the coil height is h1, not h, right? and the coil width is w1, not w? that's my question

and it is clear also that the air goes with some angles to the coil, I want to know what's the impact on the coil performance due to this angle.

The secondary surface is the envelope of the fins, while the primary surface is the surface of the pipes.
Fins surface is h1 times v1 times the number of fins, and if trigonometry returns to my mind h1 x v1 = h x v

I dont see how the angle affects the amount of air going through the coil or the performance there of. the surface area is the same and the air velocity will be the same.
