Hi Guys.
Below is the bottom of a C&G certificate, which states the recipient was successful in the following two units.
Charging refrigerants.
and
Recovering Refrigerants

Please note the date and certificate number.
Is this a Pass for F gas 2079?

We all did ours around early 2010.
But mine state part 2 F gas.
As far as I was aware the safe handling became more specific.
Thanks Grizzly

I don't think so, started looking back and you do find some strong view points.

Yep an interesting read there FC.
Basically what I am seeing is 2009 is the date that is relevant!
Is that correct Guys?

So am I to assume that like mine the code across the bottom of the certificate.
Should have 2079 within it and also be dated from 2009 or Later.

Don't think so but remember that before F-gas we had "Safe Handling"...

.

The earliest F-gas qualifications came out in 2009 and are the 2079
From what I can see the one in the screen shot is the 2078, the safe
handling of refrigerants and obviously is out of date and superceded
by the F-gas 2079.

Thanks for the input Guys!
What you have said mirrors what I thought.
When I am next told we have Our own Guy that is qualified to do the leak tests ect.
I will be able to disagree.
Cheers Grizzly

The rotten part of it all is that they will be able to send 'their own guy' on a 3 day course for £550 and he will be 'as qualified' as any of us to carry out refrigeration works and testing.

Our industry is a joke and we have made no attempt to enforce any regulation with a self governing body. Waiting for an actual government body to police our industry is a waste of time and will never happen.

We need to all join a self governing body that is peer run and then we will be able to remove poor accreditation from our industry.

Hopefully Graeme Fox will be continue with his drive to improve regulation when he takes over as next president of the IOR but I do not hold my breath.
