Phew, just had a price quoted for a new Stiebel remote controller. Stiebel want £194 trade, and City Electrical want £175.23 +VAT (hope that includes the batteries).

Does anybody know a more sensibly priced solution on buying one of these contro££ers? Customer has a Stiebel cassette model CUK24E, but has lost the hand-held controller for it.

Appreciate any tips.

Will a universal remote controller not do the trick?

Apparently not - the customer has already tried a universal one with no joy.

It's unfortunate but if the customer has broken it then he'll have to pay for his mistake.

At least he will be more careful in future ;)

For the price of it is it always good to have one of those Universal Remotes in the van. You can then always check yourself if it works rather than listen to the customer - who, in my experience, doesn't know how to operate the original, never mind the Universal :D

You speak the truth, Frank.

I'll give him the price and if he lives through that and gives me the order I just might get a uni and try it first. As you say, if it doesn't work, keep it in the car for future similars.

Well, Frank, if your avitar is anything to go by, you're doing just fine with the van.

{When I see that avitar, I always wonder about the story that goes with it.}
