View Full Version : Do we need to recharge portable air conditioners?

Hi community, there is such portable air conditioner/dehumidifier - bosh rekm 210
I need help to know, if this air conditioner we must recharge with some kind of gas?
And in general, these any model trade marks portable air conditioners require recharge with any gas? Thanks, i do not owe manual.pdf of this, so i try to ask here.

Your video shows a refrigerant label R410a.

If the gas has leaked then yes it will need repair and recharge.

Check cost before agreeing to work.

but do every of these portable ones have the recharge function?

No refrigerant circuit, be that AC/Portable AC/Refrigerator/Whatever, needs "recharging".
The only time gas has to be added is if the original gas has leaked out.
(And, no... No system should leak)
Refrigerant does not "go old", "loose performance" or any such thing.
If the system looses performance because of the gas then it is because the gas leaked out.

Now when we got that out of the way...
Any and all refrigerant circuits can be recharged by an engineer that knows what (s)he is doing, otherwise they wouldn't be able to charge them at the factory.
