Hi

Amount of refrigeration in receiver ? Receiver is covering our unbalancing liquid in system when our system is working and also separating liquid from gas and we have only liquid in the pipe ( in NH3 or ***** )

Maximum level in liquid receiver is 80% so if pressure relief valve was to vent, would vent gas, not liquid.
If level to high liquid can bank up in condenser causing high discharge pressures.

Hi
Min. is no gas should charge from receiver to separator .and all should be liquid
normally about 1/3 of D separator .

Ranger Sir..... How much minimum level of liquid in ammonia receiver

if your receiver only feeds liquid to consumers (evaporators), and there is no liquid needed for LRI for compressors or thermo syphon oil cooling, it is very easy...

the level needs to be high enough so that you are sure that the evaporators are being fed with liquid.

I don't know how large your receiver is, or how you are measuring the level.

From experience, the level should be around 15% to make sure that the liquid line is fed with pure liquid, if it is a horizontal receiver.

see attached drawing:

Thank you very much sir for explain but my liquid outlet from top to receiver and that's mounted horizontal position . I think 50℅ level in Level glass is Best According to your .

Liquid line from top of liquid receiver usually goes down close to bottom of vessel & is cut at a 45 degree angle.
So shell of liquid receiver is say 20 mm thick, then add diameter of liquid line, say 50mm, allow 25mm for liquid line not quite touching bottom of vessel.
That is minimum level before liquid line would allow gas into it, so you still need to add more for minimum level.
If unlucky have seen liquid line dip pipes no where near bottom so upsets results.
Some people get confused by sight glass, that is why measure off bottom of receiver to get accurate result, then mark it so minimum is known.
Level probes if used could be indicating different level than actual level as well.

I think if all measures ok 20-25% level under plant full load.

If you have liquid injection oil cooling maybe more!

what sort of level control do you have on the evaporator? is it a High Side Float , a low side float , a Danfoss PM type valve with level controller, on some ammonia systems with a critical charge and a high side float you may not have a level in the receiver except when you pump the system down.
