Prime Rib in the oven, friends coming over.

Interesting story.
I worked with a fellow years ago who came here on a work Visa from Harrow.
He came to me to ask what the American Holiday Thanksgiving was all about.
I explained that the Ladies went in the kitchen to prepare dinner and drink wine. They were not to be bothered unless they asked you to lift something heavy, like the Turkey.
You watched Football (American style) and could have your first drink at Noon.
When dinner was ready you ate all you could, then everyone goes into the living room and falls asleep.
When you wake up you eat more.
A very civilized Holiday he thought.
After he returned to the UK he decided to celebrate the American Thanksgiving every year.
He also celebrates the holiday 4th of July, although I think that is not too popular in the UK.
