I bought an expansion valve for use in a heat pump project but there is a piece missing from the bottom. Any ideas what is missing and where I can buy the part?

It is an ALCO Thermo Expansion Valve TI - HW 1/2" PCN 800649

Nothing is missing, you need to get the right size orifice and it will fill the hole at the bottom of the TXV.14721

Hi
You need ALCO orifice with right size
And hope you had right power for your refrigerant type

Danfoss use stainless steel capillary tube and bulb not copper these days. Everyone tries to copy the Danfoss TE2 valve but no one has come near its quality . Some more trivia The orifice cone in the T2 used to be made from Agate which is fifth hardest to diamond mm quality
Hi
you right
unfortunately we buy from danfoss branch in market and we are not sure it is original
most of them Chinese with poor quality

It seems most Danfoss parts have been copied by the Chinese .Danfoss have found T2, KP pressure switches, Driers, Maneurop compressors , And many other valves on the market , but their quality is not good

I can't find anywhere to buy an orifice. Might as well return it and make do with capillary tube.

Where did you buy the expansion valve?
Get the orifice from them.

I got it from someone who is no expert in refrigeration. I sold it the next day at a profit so I will get a complete Sporlan R22 valve for use with my heat pump which has R290 refrigerant.
