Is it completely true
Sincerely yours.
If the system they are working on has no liquid receiver then it might be true.
The discharge pressure would not normally increase or decrease like shown if system had a liquid receiver.
The testing shown is very basic & incomplete.
They did not show how to check or read superheat & analyze it's readings, so probably no relevance to anything.
Find something that has more detail & substance.
What do you think is wrong with it?

.

That would be one way of testing the TEV but I'm not
Impressed with the service technician's choice of PPE.

As a training video the use of gloves and glasses would
be good, but the advice for testing the valve was fairly sound.

What is your opinion?

Dear Ranger1,

This is my opinion :

I think when we have receiver tank, Discharge pressure should not be changed.
In the other hand, CFC/HFC/HCFC refrigeration and air-conditioning systems are more complicated instead ammonia system. Actually some problems sometimes happen that force me to think couple of hours what really this problem happened !
For example If we have blockade at system, if it be at discharge pipe, after condenser and before receiver tank, after receiver tank inside of liquid line, after evaporator inside of suction line , If at system we have receiver tank or we do not have , ….. any case of blockade after a time may influences suction and discharge pressure in a way.
I can't 100% refuse that video until I try it by myself.

Sincerely yours.
