Hi guys,

I wonder if you could offer me some advice. I’ve currently got my C&G Certificate in Handling Refrigerants (2078), having left the industry in 2008 I’m now thinking of returning and would like to know if my qualification is sufficient or whether I need to obtain 2079 and/or anything else?

Hi Mark.
Welcome back.
Your training is way out of date.
there is F gas regs safe handling 2079. for a start.
I will let some of our knowledgeable trainer on the forum explain further.
But you are correct to question as your training is indeed out of date.
Good Luck

Hi Mark

Yep the Grizzly one is correct, your 2078 is out of date and
You will need the newer 2079.

Any other qual and experience will stand you in good stead
But the 2079 F-gas is a legal requirement.

Cheers guys,

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the time taken to respond, sounds like I need to go back to school.

Can any of you recommend trainers in the Yorkshire or Lancashire area?
