Need advise in overhaul for Frick 283L compressor

Dear my friends
I need your advise in over haul for compressor frick 283L when I check the discharge clearance I found it 0.27 mm for male 0.26 mm for female without any shims . the recommended clearance is 0.22 mm for both . I have tow Options one of them scrape off 0.05 from inner bearing for thurst ball bearing the scuond option put 0.05 shim before outer rining for thurst ball bearing . the quatetion which one is correct ? I need your advises.

Either way is OK , I personally would grind inner spacer to get clearance.
If grinding or lapping spacer has to be perfectly parallel.
It could be done by hand on lapping plate with coarse sanding paper.
Manual says 0.2 to 0.28mm discharge end clearance & use 0.23 as example to aim for, so current clearance maybe OK, but maximum.
Make sure main bearing inner races are definately on all the way,check with feeler gauge &/or hydraulic jacking tool.

Thank you Ranger l am very happy for your reply today l try to adjust the male clearance it was 0.27mm after I put a shim 0.05mm at outer bearing I get clearance 0.2 . I think it is ok in range but by calculate I must get 0.22mm .I don't know why do I get 0.2mm

Also check bearing play as per manual to make sure it corresponds.

0.2 mm is OK for DEC.

I Installed the female and check discharge clearance found it 0.19mm for male 0.20mm .Now is the female clearance is Ok all though the Factory recommended range is 0.2 mm to 0.25 mm

By the way the bearing play is 200 um (0.02mm)

Hey, you want Frick 283 clearance of 0.20 mm? is your choice, I personally 0.25 to 0.28 millimeters, has worked for many overhaul but the idea of suicide is 0.20 mm.

Agree with Josef & you will find old manual has changed to now recommend larger end clearance.

Old clearance 0.2 to 0.254mm

now is 0.2 to 0.28mm

Bearing play is 0.0254 to 0.14mm, so you bearing play is also below minimum

0.19mm end clearance to small, start again & leave clearances as you first measured.
