Hi Refrigerates Techs,
Anyone discover any malfunction with the Traxoil OM3-120 modules of Emerson / Copeland.
We encounter frequently failures with this oil level modules, and the feedback from the supplier is that humidity enters the modules by the screws of the 2 solenoids what's their failure analyses.
The failures will mostly give a low oil level alarms (when level is fine), and sometimes they really completely broken (No LED's activated anymore) what's gives a big effect on the plant performance.

Modules should have a IP65 rating, but really have my doubts about this rating as units are installed in a clean and dry machine room and still fail on this humidity.
They installed on a skid with several frequency drive controlled DMW Copeland 6TJ1-250X compressor for R507, and there could be a relation with compressor breakdowns as well (unexpected overfilling of the compressor with oil ?)

Thanks your thoughts guys to get this sorted out,

Don't work with that stuff these days but when I did, only came across one fault.
One pack had a few with dodgy loom as shown on the photo.
Cheers, Andy.

Thanks Andy,
But what is the alternative in the market for a proper oil level control system with 8 compressor on one skid ?
A mechanical float ?

Never had any bother with these either except for the odd bad din plug, but if you are looking for alternatives henry tech make a similar one called optronic and castel make one called 5650.

Our supplier offer an alternative, the Electronic Oil Level
Regulators ERM 5 / ERM 5-CDH from the German supplier ESK Schultze GmbH. Someone any experience with this ?
