I met a client's refrigeration/ maintainable guy in the Midlands last week when I went to repair a cold room to be informed if it needed gas then they have the gas,the bottles came from within the eec but what country? it turns out this refrigerant 404a is nearly a third what of what I pay and I get a good deal from my supplier, alas it was not a refrigerant issue talking to the engineer I said that if I were to use their gas then it would be at their own risk, and it's not stolen stuff anyone else seen this in their travels.

.

I have only ever dealt with UK sourced refrigerants and disregarding the
obvious that you stated (stolen or home brew) then I suppose it should be
alright to use, ask to see the UN codes on it, if it is true EU produced it will
have a UN code on the cylinder.

I think 404a is 3337
