prohibit direct eductor to drain, Ammonia pumping out

Good day, all.

We using ammonia refrigerant system.
Today when suddenly occur ammonia leak, I wondering about that direct eductor to drain or flume when pumping out from the freezer pipe.
That eductor is that using jest water pressure.
I don't know that how much coming the volume of eductor at once. depend on isolate plumb volume, estimate 1/2" 2 hour open water mix.
Here, Do I need to use some gathering tank for ammonia evaporate to atmosphere?
If you have any suggestion this it might help me. Many thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
If you are considering putting the water down the City drain be very careful.
I looked up your vCard and it appears you work in the plant in Kodiak.
ISA did this many years ago and killed off the bugs n the sewer plant.
A lot of problem.
Even if you let the ammonia dissipate it will still have a high ph.
Talk to the City first.
As for going into the ocean-let your conscience be your guide.
I used to work for ISA in Egigik 30 years ago.

get or make up a recovery unit and transfer vapour to other parts of system, or into a one tonne cylinder as a liquid. Dumping saturated water down the drain is not good for the enviroment, water saturated with ammonia should be and supposed to be treated as a hazardous substance and subjected a huge draught of legislation laws globally
