Hi

I would like to check, from reading online on refrigeration cycle. refrigerant after coming out from condenser coil is in liquid phase and will pass to filter drier. By passing through filter drier which is use to absorb moisture, isn't it will absorb all of the liquid? Or refrigerant liquid is totally different from water liquid? And filter drier only absorb moisture of refrigerant liquid.

The filter/drier is only there to absorb moisture which is, by default, water vapour.

Liquid refrigerant is not moisture.

Driers work differently.

Some use silica gel which are just beads that absorb water vapour, just like the
little bags of the stuff they put in phones and computer boxes.

Some use a molecular sieve, these actually bind onto the components that make
up water. H2O, 2 hydrogens and 1 oxygen bonded together, the molecular sieve
is designed to bond onto one of those atoms at a molecular level.

Some use activated alumina which is used for removing burnout components and acids.

So liquid refrigerant and water moisture are different at a molecular level and the better
driers work at that molecular level.
