I've been asked to look at a ice cream machine for a friend. It's tripping the overload on the motor. From what I can tell it seems to be freezing the ice cream in the shaft and as a result tripping overload. Is this a common problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
what brand of machine is it ?, the carpigani systems have processor card that stops churning based on motor current draw. If faulty they keep churning and stall drive motor and basically freeze up single or both barrells. Most likely the processor card is faulty or out out of spec '

Some older Machines simply have 2 TX valves. One for the Barrel and another for the hopper. (Pre-chiller)
Barrel thermostat should shut down the compressor at around - 4 Degrees C. Your premix should be accurate.
