NH3 Screw Compressors politics

Hi Guys
Just wanted to discuss a bit of compressor politics regarding Mayekawa (Mycom) new stand of not selling bare shaft screws to its years long clients any more but only willing to sell the whole packages.
Is any one else also been told that this is the way forward with them and only the local agent can package the screws witch normally is one of your opposition Refrigeration company's?

Get your compressors from someone else. That way the volume of compressors sales drops off this hurts the bottom line of the manufacturer and as I am sure that the compressors are imported into SA that will start effecting the profitability of the factory. As with for instance Toyota in SA they need those factories to keep sending goods to keep their home economies working.

You must also understand that not everyone has the ability to produce a working pack that is properly engineered. When someone looks at a pack they don't see "Joe Soap" engineering they see "Mycom" or whoever else made the compressor. So if there is problem with the pack the compressor manufacturer normally gets the blame.

Perhaps you need to work with the manufacturer and sell yourself to them so that they have confidence selling a bare bone compressor to you

It was there move with the new J series screw, when it was new on the market.
Fair enough as they would have used a lot of resources to develop it.
You could say it's a replacement compressor for one that died, just give a serial number for a machine you want to replace! See what happens.
