Now a days we have VFD Drives which can directly power water pumps from Solar without having a need of inverter and battery bank in between. The drives have MPPT feature so pumps works at maximum efficiency relative to available sunlight and the surplus water is store in a tank for later use.

So I was wondering if direct powering of air-conditioners was possible especially those already equipped with inverter based compressors so you will only need an inverter in between to convert DC-AC. Off course going three phase 220 or 380 would be very efficient. But if maximum energy storage has to be harvested then the design needs some changes. Perhaps an external MPPT VFD drive for harvesting maximum sun energy and then the surplus is stored as ice in insulated basement for later use???

Any food for thoughts???

Very exciting ideas.
You best get that copyrighted or something and chat with the big manufacturers.
