Which one is better, brazing use dual torch or single torch ?

Hi Aria.
Some of the main questions to ask are -
Is the mass of the joint to be Brazed large enough to require the extra heat generated by a twin torch?

Can the extra heat be controlled so as to not damage items nearby?
Using the extra torch can ensure an even heat application, which will give greater uniform penetration.

Conversely, Is a more local heat required?
Which a single torch can provide, it is rare in fridge work where 2 torches are necessary.

Also the gas consumption makes it an issue for site work, if you are workshop based then it is an easier option to adopt.

Dual torches are fairly aggressive in their heat application so are less versatile.

At the end of the day, its all about how much heat you want or need to apply and of course.

What is the minimum needed to achieve a good result.
I for one rarely use a dual torch but have been known from time to time I have enlisted assistance from a second person holing a second torch.

I would say for production work in a factory a dual torch is better but for working out in the field, repairing or installing stuff a single is a better choice.

On small pipes with little maneuvering place around, I usually use Gloor two headed torch! Excellent for not burning anything around! Flames are directed at 180° to each other and almost nothing around is damaged by flame. Also, time for preheating and brazing is halved!
It takes some practice for the brain to adapt, but after that, it is much easier than with single head. It is my first choice for all joints including and below 18 mm diameter pipe!

now i'm already move to another company. My old company use single torch, with smaller leakage (by ppm) than my new company that use dual torch. Is there any critical check point, especially for brazing steel to copper? i.e technique lubricating flux, or material flux selection and etc

about fluxing method, which one is better, flux lubricating on pipe or flux mixing on filler (heat by flame) ?

Its only a matter of comfort and cost.
