G'day to All,

My name is Graeme Blackman from Sydney Australia. I run a HVACR company which web site is
www.inter-chillers.com.au we specialise in Heavy Marine shipping, all types of Chillers, and general HVACR plants.

Have a great tech library on most brands of centrifugal, screw chillers and have been doing a bit lately on the new magnetic bearings (No Oil) Turbocor compressors in retrofits and new chiller installations.

A tech by trade and have been in this great industry for 36 years now. Just got back from vacation with my son and a few mates, went 4 wheel driving across the Simpson Desert. Took trail bikes, Swags and plenty of cold beer refrigerated by an Engal.

Looking forward to being of any help.

Cheers
Graeme

We recently converted a Trane CVGA CFC R-12 centrifugal chiller to HFC R-134a using three Turbocor compressors. Also a recent Retrofit to a D/X HCFC R-22 plant by removing a failed York RS82 recip compressor and using one Turbocor compressor with Siemens electronic expansion valves. These compressors have an inrush start up current of approx 1.5 AMPS, need no oil, are quite, and have a small footprint. Incredible technology.
Cheers

Hey, this is one of the most friendly intro's I ever read on this site.
Graeme, you already retrofitted Turbocors?
Waw.
In a month or two , I need to write an article about it in a Belgium magazine.

Dear All,
I joined this forum yesterday.
My name is Sihombing from Batam Island, Indonesia. FYI, Batam is not to far from singapore.30 minutes by ferry.

I have been working as a HVACR design engineer for 5 years and now i am working for Viking, which web site is
www.viking.com.sg (http://www.viking.com.sg), we specialise in Marine and offshore.

I found many useful literature, software, and practical experiences here.

Best Rgds,

Sihombing

Sihombing, have you add your location to the RE Members map yet?
We then can see so sharp when zooming in if you're sleeping or working.:p

If you post a question, will you also add between brackets the SI units if you post originally in IP ones. For some - included me - it is difficult to read when the other unit isn't mentioned between brackets.

Enjoy you stay.

Yhruteb, can you transfer your question to the airco section please?
There's a change that few will read it here.

Thanks.

Hello Graeme,

welcome to RE forum,

can you, please, explain us something more (in new thread) about retrofit procedure, regarding remain oil and all other problems you faced during reinstallation.

I believe this would be interesting for other nice guys here, thanks :)

Best regards,

Josip :)

G'day Graeme,

I am also interested in this retrofit procedure, the word on the street up our way, is the turbcor's are failing on the retrofit scene, there is one particular company that's had around 80% failures on retro's.

Regards.
