Sanyo controller fault indication

Hi I am trying to establish what the problem is which a Sanyo controller RCS-TM80BG is indicating. There is a small flashing triangle with an exclamation mark in it. I understand from some info I have downloaded that this refers to 'protective device activated' but that is all I can find. Does anyone know what this means and where I can find more info on it?

I forgot to add, it is operating an above ceiling system with a SPW-C0706DXH8 outdoor unit.

All I can find is 'protective device activated or abnormality occurred'. Have the tried the obvious - switching off and on?
