My respectful colleagues,
Hope all are good.
I have air cooled McQuay chiller type McEnergy A 166.2 XN 134.
the chiller shows the alarm " #1 EXV not closed during power OFF ".
Then when go to unit setting system 1 expansion valve shows other message " EXV setting #1 system's waiting for valve open restart go a head ? N."
If you please open the attached images with my thread.
I changed the battery ( the battery was not good) and checked the EXV motor which is working fine.
I checked the Carel's EXV driver. the LEDs are showing that " the valve open in case of lack of supply"
( LED open: flashing/ LED close: flashing / LED power: ON / LED alarm : flashing ).
I need the Tech Password" to restart the EXV again.
The password consist of 10 separate digits. (00000 00000).
Hope someone will help and I'll be appreciated.
Wish you all good day.

Hi can you try 40130-40145 please, or press + = - help. And may I ask are there any side effects of this problem to the system other than the fault code?

Thanks Martin,
Side effects, the battery wasn't good and also alarm B6 the high pressure transducer.
Saturday I'll try your password.
By the way, I know the keys +/ - but the mark = don't have or know about it.
Regards.

Is the unit still running ok or switched off? And is there also a solenoid valve fitted?

Hi Martin.
System #2 still running but the system #1 stopped by the alarms "EXV. not closed during power OFF" and " EXV #1 battery error". There are solenoid valves for the economizer and capacity control on the compressor only and there is no S.V before the EXV.

From what I've read about this online and other forums it sounds like you might have trouble accessing the controller without knowing the specific password and some controls are only accessible through a mcquay engineer with a laptop and software but good luck!

Hi Martin, Rus
I entered the passwords but they did not give access.
Hope I can find new more password.
I just want to give the order "YES" to make restart for the EXV. to verify again the zero point.
Thanks anyway. I'll not stop and try more and more.

Remove old firmwire and load new) But you need to kick some ass in McQuay., whey dont give firmwires to anyone.
Soft for that operations you can find on KSA. Carel.
But if you never do it, dont try))

Hi Rus,
No, I went to manager level and I entered the operator access password "100", then go to technical password I pushed up and down arrow together to rest the password. Later I entered your password and then I got access to technical level. Turn the letter N to Y " yes" the problem solved EXV worked but still need to change the EXV driver battery though the old battery read 18 volt dc. but the controller generate the alarm " EXV.#1 driver battery error". And when I use the other system's battery the alarm gone . Nice day
You put new firmwire.?
