Any1 have an idea how to calculate the cooling load required on a machine like this??? Got a twin evaporator approx 5ft long and 8inchs high. Also has a small evap under thats approx 16inchs x 12inchs.

Compressor is an aftermarket 1 that i think is to big to suit thats why i ask. Pipes have been extended and the condensor is now outside.

ask manufacturer? - last resort, maybe go off pipesizes on internal cabinet, compare to condensing unit spec lists- circuit breaker size will give you a rough idea, fitting a remote condenser would req a higher displacement than the integral but pipe sizes would req increasing and a low ambient kit would be recommended

Ive searched all over no plate with manufacturer on it. The pipes at condensor are 5/8 and 3/8 then reduced to 1/2 and 1/4. The condensor fitted is blue star

If you Google your blue star model number you can download the tech details from Danfos, price of cake.

You'll need to over size, that design is inefficient as feck, fit TEV to other coil, control condensing unit off display thermostat.

Hi Harry,

As you posted this in the A/C section and are talking about cooling load, I assume that you want to calculate what size A/C you need to install in the room where this is fitted?

If so, providing this display unit is operational at the moment, the only thing you need to look at is its energy consumption. A clamp meeter on the power supply will give you an one of reading and a logging amp meeter will give you both peak and average readings whilst an energy meeter will give you the consumption over a couple of days.

Well, I recommend to Google using your blue star model number. It will give all tech details.
