Hi all, long long time reader but think im a first time poster !! Hope im in the right area.

Im looking for some info on the internals of an autodialer or a unit that can send a txt message.

The unit would ideally use a no volt or low volt imput that would be activated by an external switch, be that a door switch or an auxillary contact on an electrical overload etc.

My question is how would i go about building said unit myself (plenty of electrical experience but not so much electronics) or online companys that could supply a small number of units eg. 20

Ive been looking online but mostly its just companies advertising their autodialer products and that sort of stuff and what im looking for is just the basic PCB with room for a sim card, i dont want to just buy an autodialer that costs 50 quid, i want the bare electronics to incorporate into a bigger control circuit.

Thanks in advance guys !!!!

I can't tell you how to build one yourself :)

but there are thousands of these GSM relays available online.

Here's one http://www.homebots.ie/product/sms-controlled-switch/

It's called an SMS controlled switch, or SMS alarm monitor

:D
