At various times people have chimed in on those micro channel solar panels with refrigerant in them. I am wondering if anyone who has installed them has any evidence as to their effectiveness. Any real experience at all?

I'm having discussions with builders here who may be getting sold a pile of dung.

Not personally but I have trained people who install them
and one manufacturer recently did some training. We had
a good long talk about there use and design and they did
sound good.

Not really to my liking but they do seem to be very cost effective.

I have a document he gave me but it is the usual glossy advertising
document and It is in my office, I won't be there for a few weeks
but you are more than welcome to it (or a scan of it) if it helps.

As for actual numbers and details, sorry I have nothing, The guy suggested
I act as a sort of consultant to them because he was very interested in
some of the views I had re gaining more efficiency but I never pursued it
because I'm so busy with day to day work.

I remember them using small condensing units and getting returns in the
region of about 4 COP with temps over 50 degC. I seem to remember they
do cylinders up to 500lt (I'm sure that's correct).

Sorry I can't be any more specific, it was in November last year and I've
slept since then :)

I think I could find his details if you want them and you could talk to him?
