Hi
i noticed these different method of reversing valve operation in heating mode
when u turn off the unit with remote control
in some type you will hear whoosh of the RV valve once the unit shut off
in other split ac the RV valve keep energized for 30 seconds after the unit shut off
while in little type or ac
the RV keeps energized till the circuit breaker is lifted
so what is the advantage and disadvantage of energizing or de energizing
sorry for broken English

As far as i know there is no difference. Some units engerise rv on heating and de-energise on cooling. It all depends on manufacture. No advantage either way. I could be wrong!!!!

Hi guys,
It have been a long time i didn't lor or post, hoping this will be a good return.

Some thoughts ....

In large systems, the expansion device is thermostatic or else but not a capilary, those maintaining the RV activated for some time will allow the low pressure side to gain some pressure and the high pressure side to loose some pressure then they release the RV so they make the RV piston moves slowly to his initial place those avoiding fast mechanical operation and giving more lifetime to the RV.

In systems using capilary the increase in the pressure at the low side and the decrease at the high side takes more time so they let it activated till the power is off.

I might be wrong, this is just a point of view.

that was very useful info
for most of mini split here
are capillary type
