Hi zhouweidl,

Welcome to the RE forum.

When you say large capacity, how large of a capacity are looking for? And what type of gas are you compressing?

Does the gas have hydrogen sulfide in it?

Howden has some compressors (both oil injected and dry):
http://www.howdencompressors.co.uk/oil_injected_compressor_range.htm

York/Frick also has some large screw compressors:
http://www.york.com/products/ref/processsystems/products.asp

Mycom also has gas compression applications:
http://www.mycomcpc.com/cap_chart.html

These are the first ones I can think of. I know there are more companies that can supply twin screw compressors for gas compression, but these should give you a good idea of sizes available.

Hi Zhouweidl,
We have some old Grasso mono screws on our site, but we are replaceing them with oil injected Howden unit's that seem to work well on our Ammonia system.

i USE ALL OF THE BRANDS MENTIONED, FOR BOTH AMMONIA ***** AND CO2. IN ADDDITION WE USE THEM FOR PROCESS GAS AND WELLHEAD GAS.
LATELY I HAVE BEEN GETTING EXCELLENT PRICES AND GOOD RESULTS FROM HARTFORD OPEN COMPRESSORS

THE PRICES ARE EXCELLENT AND THE MACHINE HAS BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME. THEY WERE THE ORIGINAL FRICK AND FES UNITS.

THEY GO UP TO 300 MM DESIGNS.

I THINK IT IS HARTFORD.COM

Hi Bruce

We've had nothing but problems with the Hartford Vertical Hermetic Screw compressors.

They are fitted in Dunham Bush chillers in the UK.

Frank, Are they still having problems with these?

I was aware of some of the issues many moons ago, but thought they were resolved.

Maybe the new compressors are OK but we still have machines with the old compressors :( What a pain
The "youngest" machine is 5 years old

Hi Frank:)

Dunham and Bush is a sister company of Hartford, the screws in the chillers are verticals, the big screws Bruce talks about are horizontal, very old school:) and a lot bigger than the vertical pots.
Cross Technical Solutions, a sister company of ours sells Dunham and Bush.
Glad to hear that any problems they had have been resolved.

Kind Regards. Andy:)
