Hi there, what I thought was the usual problem with these fridge freezers, where the freezer is cold and the fridge is warm due to ice blocking the vents, has been ruled out when I've stripped off the interior panels/covers. Every now and again, probably every other day, the freezer goes warm which in turn warms up the fridge. There wasn't a single piece of ice on the evaporator or in the ducts, the drain hole was clear and the fan was turning freely. No warning lights or beeps and is approximately 5 years old.

At the moment the temp in the freezer is approx - 20c and the fridge is 4c. This raises for no reason I know, pushing the fridge to 10-12c. Am I right there is a heater which melts the build up of ice on the evap now and again to keep the main compartment frost free. Could this be coming on for too long or too warm or likely to be a faulty compressor? Or other??
