R32 Refrigerant

Apparently split system residential air conditioning units have been introduced in a number of countries around the world over the last 2 years using R32 refrigerant.

With the looming arrival of air conditioning systems using R32 here in Europe the expectation is that there will be some forum members who have some experience with this refrigerant already.

We would be interested in first hand appraisal from any engineers who have worked with R32 split systems.

What additional training do you think is required ?
What additional health & safety precautions do you think are required ?
Have there been any operational / technical problems with the equipment ?

We have been using it for years. R32 makes up
part of quite a few 400 series refrigerants already.

Daikin are driving this and they have stated that it
will be a big part of their range on offer.

As for training, it is flammable so concentration levels
need to be considered but it is not an easy gas to ignight.

The Lower flammability level is quite high at 0.307 so they feel as though
the risk is controllable.
