waeco absorbsion fridge

I have have a Waeco 3 way fridge, combicool 40 that the flame failure is not working, its
a kind I haven't seen before, looks like some kind of solenoid, rather than a conventional thermocouple, can anyone tell me how it works, and how to test it ?
