Hey all ,

can you help me in calculating the heat load of the below :

1- Product name : ICECREAM
Flow rate : 10300L/H
Inlet temp : 36c
Outlet temp : 4c

Glycol 25% Inlet Temp : -2c Outlet Temp : 16c Flow rate : 21600L/H

2- Product name : Milk
Flow rate : 10200L/H
Inlet temp : 33c
Outlet temp : 3c

Glycol 25% Inlet Temp : -2c Outlet Temp : 15c Flow rate : 11600L/H

3- Product name : MILKY MILKY
Flow rate : 5000L/H
Inlet temp : 43c
Outlet temp : 3c

Glycol 25% Inlet Temp : -2c Outlet Temp : 16c Flow rate : 10000L/H

thank you

Hi
What is the milk fat content of ice cream mix.

OK
specific heat of whole milk, pasteurized, 87% water content is 3.751 kj/kg 'K above freezing point of -0.56' C.
use total heat formula of Q = mass flow/ second x 3.751kj/kg x temp diff ' C. = Kws.

your first example :- flow rate 10300 L/hr in at 36' C out at 4.0' C
Q = 10300/3600 x 3.751 x 32' K ( 36-4' C ) = 343 .42 Kw.
dependent on pull down time , if batch cooling with re circulating through HX, extrapolate.

thank you very much but what about the glycol???

base specific heat of glycol same as water. 4.2kj/kg' K
Q = 10,000/3600 x 4.2 x 18'K (-2 + 16 ) = 210Kws
