Stumbled across this link! Interesting read and as there is now a plethora of companies badly selling air source heat pumps to the unsuspecting. I often see water chiller systems ripped out and replaced with a VRF system and you just have to ask yourselves why! why! why!

This isn't comparing a water chiller/boiler set up. Against that a VRF is probably cost effective but surely we already know GSHP are better over the heating season than ASHP's ?

When air temps are lower than ground temps, yes.

This doc is put out by Taco, a pump company, who has nothing to lose by bashing VRF.
