Hey Guys,

I currently have a trane horizon single stage absorption chiller Model number ABSD700 which we are about to carry out some repair works to.

We have carried out an eddy current tube test on the chiller and found the absorber section and the condenser section have failed. Total tubes to replace 694.

I have spoken with trane Australia and been unable to obtain the correct method for recovering the lithium bromide from the chiller so we can carry out the tube replacements.

We are aware that once we have the lithium bromide is out and we begin replacement of tubes we should run low pressure nitrogen through chiller to prevent corrosion etc but am more concerned about following the correct procedure to recover the lithium bromide.

Bromide will be stored In clean plastic chemical drums and Chemical Analysis to be undertaken.

If anyone has previous experience working on the trane absorbers, some feed back would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Dave T
