Hello there!
This is my fisrt post :)
Ok straight to the point:
I am looking for a 3ART29VAA2P thermostat for my zanussi because the one it has right now it will never turn the heater on and the fridge is full of frost. I made a small research and I found out that this thermostat has these specifications:

cold out -32,0° C
warm out: -12,5° C
constant: +4,5° C

It is similar to Ranco K 59 - L 2534 according to this page:
http://www.europart-service.de/katalog/dokumente/kuehl-_gefriergeraete_thermostate_spezial_-_thermostate/thermostat_kg_ranco_304771.htm

I found on a local store some thermostats that say Ranco K59 and have these specs:

Cold out -26c, Warm out -11c, Defrost termination +3.5c* (*constant cut in). Capillary length 1200mm

My question is: CAN I USE THEM?

Thank you guys!

Did you ask for a genuine replacement to Zanussi?

They insisted on taking the refrigerator to their site and when I asked them just for the replacement part they wouldn't sell it to me...Completely unprofessional atittude:mad:

Just a thought, based on your post your saying the stat does not turn on your heaters to defrost the unit, have you checked the stat to confirm that it is the cause? :)

I connected the heater to the mains manually and it worked. Do u think that the problem could be something else?

am not familer with the type of unit that u speak about:D but, most not all units would also have a timer in the circuit that sends unit on defrost your unit might not, if the heaters are wired off the stat then,my bad:o have never seen unit where heaters are controlled by only a stat. if that is the case well i have learnt something:) again:)

You can look the following link about how the stat controls the heater without timer.

I already bought the Ranco K59 stat cause it was really cheap (10 pounds or 15 euros) and I will try it the following days. I'll keep you informed about the results.
