View Full Version : SOLUTION: Maytag JAZZ damper door clicks endlessly

If the damper door motor continues to run endlessly (making a clicking sound) after reaching either the open or closed position, then the relevant open or close Triac on the JAZZ (ADC) control board has failed short.

These instructions are relevant to the Rev M PCB. Replace Q2 and Q3 with ST Z0103 MA Triacs in TO-92 package.

Additionally this problem seems to be specific to the newer boards with JAZZ14 firmware. These boards looks like they have cheaper snubber caps on the Triac outputs than the earlier boards and maybe the reason this fault occurs on the latter models. Consider replacing C2 and C3 with quality 1nF caps.
