We have got an old carrier heat pump and the controller is faulty, as far as i can understand, since it just switches outputs back to the unit, we should be able to replace it with any controller, not just a carrier one.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what makes a good controller, all i can remember just now is that it is a dual stage unit, no requirement for timer, just a temperature setting and auto between heat and cool mode.
the old mercury unit was far easier!
