hi
I've been looking at the Mitsubishi air con units I'm just not sure what the difference between standard inverter vs hyper inverter are

any help would be appreciated

The hyper goes up to 11.

Here's a link to the hyper http://www.orionairsales.co.uk/mitsubishi-srk-zmx-wall-air-conditioning-hyper-inverter-13-c.asp

.

It's all in the switching.

With a standard PWM and PAM inverter which is the most common inverter,
the switching of the frequency is either on or off, so the sign wave is very
square in shape.

The switching of a Vector controlled inverter is staged so when the thing switches
the pulse it builds up the pulse height so the sign wave actually looks like a real
sign wave, when measured with an oscilloscope.

In real terms it delivers a more controlled frequency which mimics a real frequency
more closer than the older versions.

So does that mean it's more energy efficient ? And spares more expensive :D
