Hey,

I am a apprentice fridge engineer and am getting on rather well.
I believed that I knew how to work out pressures and temperatures using pressure temperature charts but after a chat with my friend I am hugely mind boggled.

Could someone please explain to me in the simplest form about how to calculate pressures for systems, both AC and fridge.

I'm not 100% sure how to use the charts to figure out if a system is Short of gas or what the room temperature will be at x PSI and things like that.

Much appreciated for the responses :D

A good source of useful information, apart from here, is the Sporlan website.

To start with download document 10-35 from here...

Also look up system balance, and Gary's post in fundamentals
101.
compare saturated suction to room temp, if more than 10deg c (approx) something wrong.
Also discharge saturated pressure compared to ambient.
