For the A/C unit and the electricity going to it, no difference what so ever as long as the current going to the unit is within the cables' current carrying capacities.

Practically, stranded cable is easier to bend and get crimps crimped on properly than solid cables but solid cable is easier to get in to terminals.
Braided cable? Over here that tend to be RF cable or earth cables for special applications, not really applicable to A/C systems but if they are available as power cables in your neck of the woods then why not...

solid wiring for fixed applications- ie fuseboard to the outdoor isolator then stranded into the condenser as vibration can cause breaks in solid cable, also solid cable as in twin and earth isnt uv rated or protected by an earth around the outer sheath as swa is - fp200 is solid and earthed around the outer sheath

Braided or stranded wires need to have a crimped ferrule on them before they are terminated.
