Hi Diego, plating no, you have to grind down and pressed a new ring.

Diego, I think hard chrome is OK as maximum thickness usually 0.5mm maximum.
Josef suggests sleeves, which would be heated to put on then ground. Need to be hardened before though, maybe nitrided.
Not sure why Josef prefers sleeves?

I agree with Ranger1, I have tried all the above. It comes down to the machine shop that is doing the job though. Critical applications I would tend towards a new set of rotors from factory, and be able to sleep peacefully at night.

Hi, diego palma :)

Rotor with severe wear.

Original measure 104.90 mm
Measurement found in 104.77 mm rotor

How do I recover the rotor with hard-chrome plating or

In the past we had a similar problems with damaged rotors and sometimes with end covers too. All repairs were successful, some compressors are running still.

We used to repair rotors to nominal size and use original slide bearings, nowadays are available thermal spray repairing procedures like:

Flame spraying
Plasma spraying
HVOF (High Velocity Oxygen Fuel Spraying)
Arc Spraying

of course, the best is to ask material thermal spray specialist which procedure is the best in your case ... I do believe you can solve it without any problem ... of course the most critical procedure is grinding of shaft bearing shoulder to nominal size for bearing.

Here is a link to see the procedure (found this on www ... this company is doing all reparations for us here in Croatia:

Hope this is of some help to you.

Best regards, Josip :)

Diego,
Repairs aside, in everyone's interest to find out why serious wear on journals occurred.
Unless there was a filter or safety protecting it that failed?
Normally hard to kill if all safeties working!

Hello, we recover the rotor by plating with stainless steel and most hard chromium more balancing assembly and compressor rotors Inc. All rights reserved with the original measure

The most modern way is right alloy brazing with induction heating or laser.
