I came across a Toshiba mini split a/c. recently. Model:RAS-225UAHV. Its a 110V unit using an inverter. All info. on this unit is in Japanese. The compressor nameplate says its 110v 3ph.
Could some tell me more about these INVERTER units.........thanks

Hi Jai and welcome

I'm not a great lover of inverter units but the incoming 110vac single phase (I normally deal with 240v but...) is used to charge up some capacitors. The dc power from the capacitors is then fed through transistors (big ones) to create three phase ac voltage to feed the compressor motor.

I will try and find some more info for you and come back.

Thanks for the info. Brian. All the electronic circuitry(capacitors, transistors,ic's, etc.) in this unit are damaged but the compressor is electrically O.K. I could bypass all the electronic circuitry but could I get the compressor to run on 110V or 220V ph1. I don't want to have to replace the compressor because of its odd electrical characteristics. I would appreciate any other info.
