Hi all,

I have a thermo king md ii max reefer unit attached to a 20ft ISO container that we plan to use as a cold store for the rugby club. We are powering it direct from a 3 phase supply. The problem I am having is that the control panel does not appear to be receiving any power as it does not illuminate and the unit does not power up. When I press the solenoid / breaker and hold it in the unit comes to life and cools the container however the control still shows no activity and as soon as I release the breaker the unit shuts down. I have swapped the breaker and control panel for known good ones but still have the same issue. Any advice will be greatly appreciated

Many thanks
Dave

It needs a battery on it as the control circuit is 12 volts dc

Has the fridge been removed from a truck? If so it may have had an in cab control unit, It wont work without it. In that case look for mortgage facilities.

As Cad said- the controller and contactor is 12v. You need to connect a 12v battery up to the unit to enable the display and contactor to pull in.
