I have seen a unit that I have never seen before .....

Petter AC2 engine
Bock 2 cylinder compressor
Electric evap fans
Overcab
Engine sideways and condenser at the righthand side of unit
Stork stat and controls on the left hand side.
Square front cover
Evap cowling like a KD - MD style.

Any ideas ?
Or is this the new Carrier 1350 ?

Sounds like something transfrig or Hubbard may have made. Does it run? If it does bet it's noisy I was thinking petter but. Never seen on with that arrangement

No not Petter and no other signs on it . I will post a photo this week.

And it does look like it has been running recently one of two sitting on a pallet. Might be good if anyone is starting a fridge museum. (Think they better ask there wife's first though)

if its got an ac2 in it,dig a deep hole cover it in bleach and concrete that should stop it seeing daylight again!

Photos would be interesting. There wasn't many that used Petter AC2. Stork 'stat dates it!
But - who can remember Transfrig units with Petter BA2 engine and hydraulic fans??

jesus! scrape the barrel transfrig, although got to admit danish bacon used to use petter hob units and why they are not around meaning something similar beats me good simple unit. think we overcomplicate things nowadays.but an ac2 my god,but the ac1 won the queens award for industry the machine was brilliant then some fool joined two together concorde was quieter!

Talking of the Petter AC2, who remembers the DPT and worse still the DPV not to mention the DHT & DHV, I have to wear two hearing aids now, no kidding.

Petter engines - Queens Award to Industry was for the AA1, as a lightweight high-speed diesel. High speed in that it run at twice the speed of the old iron engines. The AA1 was stretched through the AB1 to AC1 and then to AC2. Parallel development was of DA1, BA1 and BA2.
In 35 odd years in transport, I have not seen anything resembling the photos. I have to add though that the evaporator is very 'Petter'!
Where are the guys that came into transport refrigeration during the late 60's and early 70's?

I stand corrected,I loved the old dfm and once you understood how to hone the ac 1 ,and along the way meeting the crazy ac 2 there is a radio ad about putting a claim in for hearing damage pity petter refrig is not around we could sue the arse off them!
