Hi guys, the need has come for an outdoor unit to be shifted about 2 meters. The pair coil is very hard to replace, so I am planning on brazing on an extra bit and going down that route.

Obviously I'll pass nitrogen through the pipe work whilst brazing, but with the heat cause the oil in the pipes to become a problem?
Any thing else I should look out for?

Cheers

Lets see. Shove a clean rag up and down the cut tubes to remove the oil. If the supply line is 1/4 inch then there is bugger all chance of doing this.
If you have a cool only system, you can install a small burn-out drier on the suction line. For a heat/cool, i wouldn't worry if dry nitrogen was purged while brazing.
A wet rag placed about 80 mm away from each weld will limit the internal pipe exposure to oil degradation.
Use 2 or 5% rods for copper to copper welds :)
