having tried endless attempts at getting the comupter buff to give me a sensible answer on how much heat a 10KVa UPS gives out, i have given up. (last answer 10,000 kW's:D ) he got upset when i said 10mW load would melt more than his hard drives.:eek:

Anyone got any idea's how much these babies produce in the way of sensible load. they are spanking new 3 phase and there are two, but that's as much as i know.

i'm not familiar with this...but i asked someone and he said it's about 0,8 kw.

Well, 10KVA = 10,000 VA or W so it's a 10kw UPS.

Now, dissipated heat should be the difference between the efficiency and the in-efficiency. So if it's 90% efficient the dissipated heat would be 10% or 1kw

With all equipment operating at full load, measure power input at breaker box. One measurement gives the total heat output of all equipment.

I need to design and select the system before the equipment goes in as they will go 'live' within a day, and they need to a/c commissioned and live a few days before.
